Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers are considered by many toSoccer jerseys be in decline. But they look like a team that wants to prove everyone wrong. There's a lot of pride in Steel City and this team will not simply lie down and let the Cleveland Browns or the Cincinnati Bengals run over them on the way to the playoffs. Pittsburgh beat the Browns in week two in a close one, and they are 2-0.
Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers
Brett Favre's replacement has played well thus far. Will he have fans saying "Brett who?" by the end of the season? It is possible. In his second week, Aaron Rodgers was 24-of-38 for 328 yards and three TDs. He did not throw a pick! In two games, he has two wins, four touchdown passes, one rushing TD, no picks and one sack. Wow!
I CAN Play this Game
Brett Favre (1-1), Chad Pennington (0-2), Kurt Warner (2-0), Matt Cassel (2-0), Joe Flacco (1-0) and Matt Ryan (1-1) all have something to prove. The vets want to prove to doubters that they still have gas in their tanks and the rookies want to show everyone that they are the real thing. It's a pretty exciting and unpredictable time for QBs and the NFL.
Those are just a few of the things to consider when it comes to this young season. Stay tuned. There are 15 more weeks to go!
As the 2008-2009 NFL season enters and exits its second week, there are already many things to consider. Here are four considerations I'm pondering early in what may prove to be one of the most exciting NFL seasons in years.
Eli Manning Vs Peyton Manning
New York Giants' QB Eli Manning appears confident and better able to handle pressure than ever before.
Could he possibly eclipse brother Peyton Manning this season? Peyton had a tough time in his first start as he and his team were mauled by the Chicago Bears. (Hmmm, and those Bears were mauled by the Panthers this week!)
